The Good Fite

Postmodern musical chameleon and critically acclaimed Brooklyn-based artist Tim Fite is bringing his maverick stylings to Los Angeles' Natural History Museum tomorrow night, April 3rd, as part of the First Fridays concert series! Fite, formerly known as Tim Sullivan, has been stirring the pot with his own unique flavor of funny cultural critique through his new album, Teeth Lost, Hearts Won.

Ever the explorer, Fite recently discovered Fiction by l.a.Eyeworks while working in Australia, and became quite the fan! Pictured above is Fite wearing (and working) HEP in green fade with plenty of attitude (photographed by Cybele). Framing the Shot

Fiction fan, and director extraordinaire, Bryan Jackson decked out his film crew with Fiction by l.a.Eyeworks' newest and hottest releases: KID and YUP! Parading in a vast array of matte colors, the new Fiction frames are made of a textured plastic that lends itself to a balsa wood-like surface. Light as a feather, but stiff as a board, these frames are the next wave of eyewear! Not to be left out, Bryan's partner in crime (and fabulous food snob) Quyen Tran was all hands on deck with the mad skills behind the camera! Adventure! Horror! Fantasy! Q and Wolf

Quyen, cinematographer and foodie extraordinaire, keeps it cool and stylish with her BIZ frames while she shoots on location for the new Twilight film (which would explain the wolf).  Ever the animal lover, Quyen takes a minute to help the furry movie star relax, and enjoy those soft rays of sun.

Fiction Rocks the Runway!

    When John Bartlett's Fall 2009 men's collection hit the runway during New York's Fashion Week, selections from l.a.Eyeworks and it's sister line, Fiction, added the perfect accent of warmth to Bartlett's tweedy paean to men's attire from the 20's and 30's.
    The refined circular shapes of the carious frames acknowledged the past wile looking towards the future of men's wardrobing.  The Fiction highlight was the just-released MAX in butterscotch with Havana tortoise.  For more images of runway coverage visit

Dig Onstage with Lady Danville

When Dan Chang, from Lady Danville, told us that his band has an upcoming gig at the El Rey Theater we decided it was time for an update.  Since we last saw the Fiction Fan Dan, he had just picked up a pair of Dig frames, and Lady Danville has just released their first self-titled EP.  Since then, they've been making the rounds on the Los Angeles circuit and even traveled up north for some one-night stands!

AMP-ed Up

Where there is music, there is likely to be an amp - a Fiction Amp, that is. Whitley, the charismatic musician from Melbourne, Austrailia, has been making quite the splash in the music scene.  Check out this awesome video of Whitley wearing his fantastic Fiction frame Amp in brown fade while performing "Lost in Time" from his debut album, The Submarine, at the MoBoogie Loft.  Acoustic or not, Whitley will always have an Amp in his back pocket.

A Cat in Prague

 

This ain't no alleycat!  Fiction fan Andrea sent us this adorable photo of her and baby Tamara at her sister's wedding in Prague, Czech Republic.  Andrea is wearing Cat in havana streak, and hasn't been able to wear anything else since she acquired the feisty frame.   This fashionable design purrs in six  stunning colors making most of your nine lives the cat's meow!

Snow Mate

 
The always-in-motion Fiction fan, Quyen Tran, sent us this recent photo with her classic IT sunglasses in black and white while spending some time up in the mountains.  Tran took a rare opportunity to have fun in the snow, where she met her frosty little friend, sitting ever so quietly.  From what we hear, they chatted a while, until her dog intervened.  Hop over to Tran's blog to read about all of her latest adventures!

In Yokohama

     

Fiction fiend Bryan Jackson recently travelled to Japan, spending some quality time with his friend Kotori in the city of Yokohama.  Wearing her Gig frame in black, Kotori accompanied Jackson all through their shopping excursions in Chigisaki.  Who knows in what far-flung destination you'll meet a Fiction face yourself.
